More congratulations are in order for our client NuVasive, this time for the launch of their integrated technology platform, Pulse, to which the NOVO software development team contributed. NuVasive’s goal of making spine surgery less disruptive, less invasive, and safer for both the patient and the OR staff is evident in this system.
Pulse includes neuromonitoring, NuVasive’s proprietary Integrated Global Alignment (iGA) system, smart imaging for reduced radiation exposure, 2D and 3D imaging/navigation, the Bendini rod-bending system, robotics, and smart tools. Together, the technologies in Pulse help improve patient outcomes and physician workflow and safety. Imaging technologies reduce radiation exposure for everyone in the OR. Workflow is improved with wireless functionality that lets all staff access the technologies independently and simultaneously. Bendini creates predictable, reproducible rod-bending. All of this benefits patients with more elegant spinal surgery accomplished with shorter OR times, which also translates into reduced costs.

NOVO’s software team contributed significantly to the Pulse effort, including the C-arm imaging software, 2D navigation, robot, iGA, and Bendini. Our mechanical engineering team also contributed to the robot arm design and hardware housing.
